1.6 Disposal / decommissioning
Inoperable IMPAC pyrometers have to be disposed corresponding to the local regulations of electro or elec-
tronic material.

Sub range: User adjustable (minimum span is 51°C)
Data handling: digital
Spectral response IS 5; IS 5-LO: 0.8 ... 1.1 µm
IGA 5; IGA 5-LO: 1.45 … 1.8 µm
IR detector: Silicon photo diode (Si); Indium-Gallium-Arsenic photo diode (InGaAs)
Power supply: 24 V DC ± 25% nominal, ripple must be less than 50 mV
maximum current requirement: < 3 VA (incl. active laser targeting light)
Analog output: 0 ... 20 mA or 4 ... 20 mA, linear, switchable
Load:
0 ... 500
Digital interface: RS232 or RS485 addressable (half-duplex),
baud rate 1200 to 38400 Bd, resolution < 0.1°C
Resolution: 0.1°C on interface
< 0.1% of the adjusted sub range on the analog output
Isolation: Power supply, analog output and digital interface are galvanically
isolated from each other
Parameters: Adjustable on the pyrometer:
Emissivity (ε), exposure time t
90
, analog output 0 ... 20 or 4 ... 20 mA,
online-/offline-switch for adjustments at pyrometer or PC
Additionally adjustable or readable via digital interface:
Sub-temperature range (within the full measuring range), external
clearing of the maximum temperature value, clear times of the max.
value storage, hold function, address, baud bate, internal temperature.
pyrometers with PID-controller: set point, proportional band, rate time
/integral time, output delimitation (adjustable via software)
Emissivity: 20 ... 100% adjustable in the instrument or
via serial interface in steps of 1%
Maximum value store
Built-in single or double storage. Clearing with adjusted time t
clear
(OFF; 0.01 s;
0.05 s; 0.25 s; 1 s; 5 s; 25 s), extern, via interface or automatically with the
next measuring object
Exposure time t
90
: 2 ms; adjustable to 0.01 s; 0.05 s; 0.25 s; 1 s; 3 s; 10 s
Accuracy: < 350°C: 0.5% of measured value in °C + 1°C
350 ... 1500°C: 0.3% of measured value in °C + 1°C
> 1500°C: 0.5% of measured value in °C + 1°C
Repeatability: 0.2% of measured value in °C + 2°C
Ambient temperature: 0 ... 70°C (The laser targeting light switches off if the internal temperature
goes above approx. 50°C. At 70°C a thermal switch is activated
at the 4 ... 20 mA output which sets the output to 0 mA)
Storage temperature: -20 ... 70°C
Enclosure rating: IP65 (DIN 40050)
Weight: approx. 550 g
