TROUBLE
Excessive Noise
or Vibration
PROBABLE CAUSE
Improper bearing
lubrication
REMEDY
Supply
required
oil
pressure. Clean or re-
place oil line; clean oil
strainer. If trouble
persists, overhaul
turbocharger.
Tighten loose connec-
tions or replace
manifold gaskets as
necessary.
Disassemble and clean.
Leak in engine
intake or ex-
haust manifold
Dirty
impeller
blades
Clogged
manifold
system
Engine will not
Deliver Rated
Power
Clear all ducting.
Foreign material
lodged in com-
pressor impeller
or turbine
Excessive dirt
build-up
in
com-
pressor
Leak in engine
intake or ex-
haust
Rotating assembly
bearing seizure
Restriction in re-
turn lines from
actuator to waste
gate controller
Disassemble and clean.
Thoroughly clean com-
pressor assembly.
Service air cleaner and
check for leakage.
Tighten loose connec-
tions or replace mani-
fold gaskets as
necessary.
Overhaul
turbocharger.
Remove
and clean
lines.
