Transmission malfunction

The warning light is on the combination display instrument.
During ignition, the warning light is on for several seconds and
then it should go out.
If the control light does not go out after ignition or remains on
during operation, then there is a problem with the
transmission.
These problems can lead to transmission damage. Stop
the vehicle immediately and determine the cause of the
problem. For help see “Displays of the combination
display instrument” on page 125.
Transmission oil pressure

The warning light is on the combination display instrument.
This warning light lights up during ignition. This warning light
should go out once the engine has started up.
If the warning light does not go out after the engine has been
started or if it relights, then the oil pressure in the transmission
is insufficient.
Insufficient oil pressure can damage the transmission.
Stop the vehicle immediately and determine the cause
of the problem. For help see “Displays of the
combination display instrument” on page 125.
