Overview

This document is a user and installation guide for the Maidaid Halcyon Evolution 525WS pumped waste dishwasher.

Function Description:

The Maidaid Halcyon Evolution 525WS is a commercial dishwasher designed for washing dishes, glasses, and utensils. It features a pumped waste system, allowing for drainage even if the drain is not lower than the machine's base. The machine offers various washing programs tailored to different soiling levels and item types, including short, medium, long, eco, new water, glass, water (for reverse osmosis), intensive (ACT 1-ACT 2), steel, cold, plate, and sanitizing (SAN) cycles. It incorporates an integral dispenser for rinse aid and detergent, with dosage settings calibrated by the installer based on water hardness. The dishwasher is equipped with a self-diagnosis system that registers and warns of malfunctions, displaying error codes to assist in troubleshooting.

  • Noise Pressure Level (according to EN ISO 4871):
    • Undercounter versions: LpA Max = 55 dB Kpa=2.5 dB

    • Utensil washer versions: LpA Max = 76 dB Kpa=1.5 dB
  • Ambient Temperature (Normal Operating Conditions): 4°C min / 40°C max (average 30°C)
  • Altitude (Normal Operating Conditions): Up to 2000 metres
  • Relative Humidity (Normal Operating Conditions): Max 30% at 40°C / max 90% at 20°C
  • Minimum Water Supply Flow Rate: 20 l/min
  • Electrical Connection: Requires an omnipolar circuit breaker with a contact gap of at least 3 mm and thermal cutout or fuses. Mains voltage and frequency must match nameplate ratings. Installation must include a grounding system.
  • Power Cable Type: H07RN-F, current capacity at 60°C.
    • Three-phase machines: 5x2.5 mm² (up to 20 A), 5x4 mm² (up to 30 A), 5x6 mm² (up to 38 A), 5x10 mm² (up to 54 A).
    • Single-phase machines: 3x1.5 mm² (up to 16 A), 3x2.5 mm² (up to 25 A).
  • Equipotential Connection: Marked with IEC 60417 symbol 5021, requires a cross-section of 10 mm² cable.
  • Drain Connection (with pump): Max height 1 m.
  • Water Hardness Settings (for incorporated water softener):
    • 0-20 °fr (0-11 °dGH)
    • 21-25 °fr (12-14 °dGH)
    • 26-30 °fr (15-17 °dGH)
    • 31-35 °fr (17-20 °dGH)
    • 36-40 °fr (20-22 °dGH)

Usage Features:

The dishwasher features a graphic interface with an ON/OFF button, special programme selection button, programme selection button, start button, standby LED, machine status indicators area, cycle indicators area, text display, and time bar.

  • Display Colors: Green for "Ready", Blue for "Washing cycle in progress", Yellow for "Machine in preparation stage" or "No washing additives/salt", Red for "Serious fault".
  • Starting a Cycle: Press the START button (4). The time bar (9) indicates progress, and the display turns blue.
  • Automatic Cycle Start-up: Can be enabled to start a cycle by simply closing the door/hood. Indicated by an "A" on the display.
  • Displaying Information: Holding the START button (4) or PROGRAMME SELECTION button (3) for a few seconds displays boiler temperature, tub temperature, and number of cycles performed.
  • Special Programmes: Accessed via button (2), offering cycles like ECO (energy-saving), NEW (total water change), LONG (continuous wash), GLASS (low rinse temperature), WATER (for reverse osmosis), ACT 1-ACT 2 (intensive for very dirty dishes), PRG 4-PRG 5 (long wash for heavily soiled dishes), STEEL (for cutlery, higher water temperature), COLD (cold water rinse for glass washers), PLATE (for glass washers), and SAN (sanitizing, EN ISO 15883-1/3 compliant).
  • Filling the Rack: Use suitable racks, avoid overloading, wipe dishes before placing, place empty dishes downwards, plates upwards, cutlery handle end down. Avoid mixing silver and stainless steel cutlery.
  • Stopping a Cycle: Press the START button (4) again.
  • Turning Off: Press the ON/OFF button (1). The standby LED (5) remains red. The machine automatically switches off if the door is open for more than an hour.
  • Resin Regeneration: For machines with an incorporated water softener, the "REGENERATION SYSTEM ON" symbol indicates a regeneration cycle is underway. A "NO SALT" warning indicates salt needs to be added (approx. 700g of regeneration salt, 1-2mm grain size, no additives).
  • External Water Softener: "SERVICE" alert indicates regeneration is needed. Cancel by holding all 4 buttons for 5 seconds with the machine off and door open.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning the Filter Unit: Turn off the machine, remove the integral filter (Fig. 7A), pull up and remove the overflow pipe (Fig. 7), wait for the tub to empty, and extract/clean the tub filter.
  • Cleaning the Spray Arms: Remove the spray arms by unscrewing retaining nuts, clean nozzles, and remove any blockages. Restore arms and check free rotation.
  • End of Shift: Drain the machine, disconnect power, close external water cock, perform routine maintenance, and leave the door ajar to prevent odors.
  • General Rules: Always disconnect power and water supplies before servicing or cleaning. Only qualified staff should work on the machine. Do not use steam or water jets for cleaning.
  • Self-Cleaning Cycle: A "CLEAN" program is available for drain and self-cleaning at the end of the working day.
  • Filter Cleaning: The manual emphasizes checking and cleaning filters regularly.
  • Detergent and Rinse Aid: Check levels in dispensers regularly.
  • Water Hardness Settings: Configurable by a qualified technician in the settings menu.
  • Energy Saving Function: Can be enabled in settings to save energy when the dishwasher is on but not in use.

Safety Warnings:

  • Do not use the machine if untrained.
  • Children aged 8+ or persons with reduced capacities can use it under supervision or after training.
  • Children must not play with the appliance or perform cleaning/maintenance unsupervised.
  • Always disconnect power and water before servicing.
  • Do not open the machine quickly if the cycle is not complete.
  • Never use the machine with guards removed.
  • Do not wash non-machine-washable items.
  • Do not use the machine as a step or support.
  • Do not overload the open door of front-loading machines.
  • Never place bare hands in the wash solution.
  • Never overturn the machine after installation.
  • Disconnect power and water immediately if malfunction or fluid leak occurs.
  • Do not install near heat sources over 50°C.
  • Never expose to weather.
  • Never start a wash program without the overflow in the tub (if applicable).
  • Never place magnetic objects near the machine.
  • Do not use the top as a table or support.
  • Installer must ensure grounding system is operational and issue a written declaration of proper installation.
  • Do not change or tamper with machine elements.
  • Do not use multi-sockets, adapters, inadequate cables, or non-conforming extensions.
  • Never use chlorine or hypochlorite-based detergents.
