  If the pilot light on your Majestic Indoor Fireplace frequently goes out, it could be due to a pilot flame that is either too low or too high, causing the pilot safety to shut off. To resolve this, clean and adjust the pilot flame to ensure maximum flame impingement on the thermopile and thermocouple. Another possible cause is a blockage in the vent terminal. Inspect the vent terminal for any obstructions that might be recycling flue gases.

What to do if the pilot will not stay lit on my Majestic Indoor Fireplace?

  If the pilot light on your Majestic Indoor Fireplace won't stay lit after following the lighting instructions, there are a couple of potential reasons. First, the pilot flame might not be properly impinging on the thermocouple/thermopile. Make sure to clean and adjust the pilot to maximize flame impingement. Second, the automatic valve could be defective. To check this, turn the valve knob to 'Pilot' and maintain flow to the pilot; a millivolt meter should read greater than 10 mV. If the reading is okay but the pilot still doesn't stay on, the gas valve may need to be replaced.

  If the spark ignitor on your Majestic Indoor Fireplace isn't lighting, it could be due to a defective or misaligned electrode at the pilot. Try lighting the pilot with a match. If it lights, turn it off and push the red button again. If it still doesn't light, check the gap at the electrode and pilot, ensuring it's about 1/8 inch for a strong spark. Alternatively, the ignitor itself (push button) might be defective. Check for a spark at the electrode and pilot when pushing the Piezo Ignitor Button. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is properly connected, you may need to replace the ignitor.

Second, ensure that the wire connections from the thermopile to the gas valve terminals are secure and that the thermopile is fully inserted into the pilot bracket; a millivolt meter should read 250-300 millivolts (minimum 150) at the thermopile terminals of the gas valve. You can bypass the wall switch by using a jumper wire across the terminals; if the burner ignites, the switch is likely defective and needs replacement. If that doesn't work, try jumping the wires at the valve; if the burner then comes on, the wires are faulty or poorly connected. Also, the thermopile might not be generating enough millivoltage.
