Why is my Major Lawn Mower gearbox leaking?

A leaking gearbox can be caused by several issues. The oil seal might be damaged, requiring replacement. A bent shaft can also cause leaks, so replace the oil seal and shaft. If the shaft is rough in the oil seal area, replace or repair it. An incorrectly installed oil seal should be replaced. If the oil seal isn't sealing in the housing, replace it or use a sealant on the outside diameter. An oil level that is too high needs to be drained to the proper level. A hole in the gearbox requires replacing the gearbox. A damaged gasket should be replaced, and loose bolts should be tightened.
