  There are several reasons why your Makita Trimmer engine might not be starting: * You may have failed to operate the primer pump. Push it 7 to 10 times. * The pulling speed of the starter rope might be too low. Pull it strongly. * There might be a lack of fuel. Feed fuel to the trimmer. * The fuel filter could be clogged. Clean it. * The fuel tube might be broken. Straighten the fuel tube. * The fuel may be deteriorated. Replace it with new fuel (recommended every month). * The plug cap might be detached. Attach it securely. * The spark plug could be contaminated. Clean it. * The spark plug clearance might be abnormal. Adjust the clearance. * There might be another abnormality with the spark plug. Replace it.
