Why does my Makita Trimmer engine not start or start with difficulty?
- JJoseph MccoyAug 12, 2025
There are several potential reasons why your Makita Trimmer engine might not be starting easily. These include a faulty fuel supply or compression system, a mechanical defect, issues with the stop switch, wiring faults or short circuits, a defective spark plug or connector, a faulty ignition module, incorrect choke position, a defective carburetor, a bent or interrupted fuel supply line, a defective cylinder bottom gasket, damaged crankshaft seals, defective cylinder or piston rings, improper sealing of the spark plug, or broken parts inside of the engine, including a broken starter spring.
