Why my MAS Air Conditioner will not start?
    • P
      phelpsdavidAug 18, 2025
If your MAS Air Conditioner won't start, consider these potential causes and solutions: * The A/C circuit breaker might be off. Turn the circuit breaker on at the ship’s panel. * The control might not be turned on. Consult the control operation section in this manual. * There could be wrong wiring at the terminal strip. Check the wiring diagram and correct if necessary. * Push-on butt connectors might have become disconnected during installation. Disconnect the power supply and open the electric box, then check the wiring diagram and correct if necessary. * The input line voltage might be insufficient. Check the power source (shore/generator) for proper voltage, and inspect the wiring and terminals for proper sizes and connections.

What to do if MAS Air Conditioner coil is iced?
    • E
      ejonesAug 21, 2025
If the coil of your MAS Air Conditioner is iced, here's what you can do: * Raise the thermostat set point. * Ensure proper air flow by removing any obstructions in the return air stream. Clean the return air filter and grille, and check for crushed or restricted ducting, making sure it's as straight, smooth, and taut as possible. * Redirect the supply air so that it is not blowing into the return air stream, preventing short-cycling. * Close hatches and doors to reduce the humidity level. * As a last resort, switch the A/C to heat until the ice melts, or use a hair dryer to melt the ice. * If the problem persists, program the low fan speed parameter U3 for the maximum value (55).

How to troubleshoot no air flow in MAS Air Conditioner?
    • T
      Tammy LarsonAug 25, 2025
If there is no air flow in your MAS Air Conditioner, it is likely that the air flow is blocked. Remove any obstructions in the return air stream. Also, clean the return air filter and grille. Check for crushed or restricted ducting, ensuring the ducting is as straight, smooth, and taut as possible.

Why MAS Air Conditioner system runs continuously?
    • S
      Steven BatesAug 28, 2025
If your MAS Air Conditioner system runs continuously, the improper air sensor location could be the reason. Verify the display head location with the criteria found in this manual. Install an alternate air sensor if necessary.

What to do if MAS Air Conditioner unit switches to heat while in cool mode?
    • A
      Anthony StewartAug 30, 2025
If your MAS Air Conditioner unit switches to heat while in cool mode, it's possible that the Passport II de-icing feature is enabled due to coil icing up. Reprogram parameter U15. If the coil is iced, refer to the instructions for coil icing.

    • M
      mary05Sep 3, 2025
If the fan in your MAS Air Conditioner is not running, it might be because the Passport II is programmed for fan cycling with the compressor. Reprogram parameter U10 to resolve this.

Why my MAS Air Conditioner has no heating?
    • K
      kathryn16Sep 7, 2025
If your MAS Air Conditioner has no heating, it might be because the unit is a 'cool only' model and not a reverse cycle. In this case, you could install optional electric heat.

What does 'HHH' displayed on MAS Air Conditioner Passport II mean?
    • R
      ricardoklineSep 10, 2025
If 'HHH' is displayed on your MAS Air Conditioner Passport II, it indicates that the high pressure switch is open (in cooling) due to improper sea water flow. The strainer or intake may be plugged, the sea cock may be closed, or the sea water hose may have kinks or collapses. Verify pump operation and check the pump circuit breaker if applicable.

What to do if my MAS Air Conditioner is not cooling or heating?
    • M
      meganschmidtNov 13, 2025
If your MAS Air Conditioner isn't cooling or heating, there might be several reasons: * The temperature set point might be too high (in cooling) or too low (in heating). Try lowering or raising the set point. * There could be obstructed sea water flow. Clean the sea water strainer, check for obstructions at the speed scoop thru-hull inlet, and ensure a good steady flow from the overboard discharge. * The sea water pump may be air-locked. Remove the hose from the pump discharge to purge air from the line. * The unit 'Passport II' might be programmed for heat or cool only. Reprogram parameter U1 for the appropriate mode: cooling, heating, or auto. * The sea water temperature may be too high for cooling or too low for heating. If installed, switch to electric heat. * There may be...
