Warning: To drain and fill the oil and
to check the oil level the axle must be
horizontal.
Before draining the oil from axle housing, use the
breather (3) to release possible internal pressure.
(Fig. 125)
To drain the oil remove the level plug (1) and the
drain plug (2). Drain all oil.
Clean the plug (2) and tighten it to 70 Nm torque.
Always use the breather (3) to release possible
internal pressure.
Unscrew the oil fill plug (1) and fill to the bottom of
the level plug hole with the specified oil. Wait to allow
the oil to flow through the axle. Check oil level and
fill to the specified level if necessary.
Screw the plug (1) to 75 Nm torque .
Before draining the oil from wheel end rotate the
wheel end so that the plug (4) is at the highest position
[pos.A] and partially unscrew to release possible
pressure.
Rotate the wheel end so that the plug (4) is toward
the ground [pos.B].
Remove the plug and drain the oil. (Fig. 126)
