LIQUID-FILLING THE TIRES
For additional weight or ballast, the
front and rear tires may be filled with cal-

cium chloride solution. It is more desir-
able to use calcium chloride solution than
plain water, as the freezing point of the so-
lution is lower and the density (weight) is
greater. The solution described in the ta-
ble contains 3. 5 lbs. of calcium chloride per
gallon of water. The freezing point for this
ratio is 300 F. below zero. Although the
total weight figures in the table describe a
tire 1003 full, it is possible to partially fill
the tires by using lesser amounts.
