~ Dr ain and refill the reservoir with
hydr a uli c oil, M-1129 - A, available through
your local Massey - Ferguson Dealer. To
make sur e all air is out of the system and
the re se r voir is full, follow the following
proc edu res.
B 1. S tart Tractor engine and warm up
to oper a tin g temperature.
2. Tur n the steering wheel to t he right
and then l eft at least three times, without
blowing th e r e li ef valve from turning too far.
3. Tur n t he wheels backto straight for-
ward and fill the reser vo ir with engine run-
ning.
4 . Rep eat steps 2 and 3 at least three
times to assure that all air is purged from
the system .

Ch eck the r eservoir daily when Trac-
tor is new to a ssu r e the reservoir is not low.
Engine Cylinder Head (See Fig . 8 5)
B After the fi rst 50 hours of operation,
the cylinder head n uts must be r et i ghtened
to 55-60 ft. -lbs . tor que (with engi ne at op-
erating temperatur e).

.£0.J Valve tappet clearance must be
checked, and adjusted after retightening the
cylinder head, and at each 500-hour inter-
val thereafter. Set clearance as follows:
Intake - . 012 (Hot)
Exhaust - 0 .15 (Hot)
Engine Crankcase Oil {See Fig 86)
e Drain the oil completely by removing
the drain plug in bottom of crankcase. Re-
fill to the "full" mark on the dipstick with
oil of the correct seasonal viscosity and
A. P. I. classification. See lubrication chart
for crankcase capacity and grade of oil.
Remove the oil filter element. Discard
