Why doesn't the burner light on my Masterbuilt Smokers?
    • A
      adam70Aug 20, 2025
If the burner on your Masterbuilt smoker doesn’t light after pressing the ignitor button, it could be due to low or no gas flow, or a vapor lock at the coupling nut to the LP cylinder. First, turn the burner control knob to the "Off" position and the gas cylinder valve knob to OFF. Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder to relieve any vapor lock. Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder by hand, turning until tight. Slowly open the gas cylinder valve slightly, then open it further by turning one full turn. Now, you are ready to light the smoker by turning the burner control knob to high and using the ignitor.

If you notice a fire under the control panel of your Masterbuilt Smoker, it's likely due to a fire in the burner tube caused by a blockage. Immediately turn off both the burner control knob and the gas cylinder valve. Once the fire is out and the burner has cooled down, remove and inspect the burner for spiders, nests, rust, or other debris that may be causing the blockage.

      Allen LeeAug 28, 2025
If you smell gas leaking between the LP cylinder and regulator connection on your Masterbuilt Smoker, it could be due to improper installation, a connection that isn't tight enough, damaged threads, or a bad rubber seal. First, turn off the gas cylinder valve, then re-attach the regulator to the cylinder, ensuring it is securely tightened. Visually inspect the rubber seal for any signs of damage. If problems persist, turn off the gas cylinder valve and return the cylinder to your gas provider/supplier.
