Do you have a question about the Matrix CXV and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the Matrix CXV Virtual Training Cycle, a stationary exercise bicycle designed for home and commercial use.
The Matrix CXV is a high-performance indoor cycle designed to provide an immersive and effective workout experience. It features a fully integrated touchscreen console that offers a variety of workout programs, entertainment options, and performance tracking. The cycle is built for durability and user comfort, with adjustable components to accommodate different body types and fitness levels. It is suitable for users seeking a comprehensive virtual training experience with robust technical specifications and user-friendly features.
The Matrix CXV Virtual Training Cycle features a 22-inch touchscreen console. It supports a maximum user weight of 159 kg (350 lbs) and a user height range of 152 - 200.7 cm (5'0" - 6'7"). The maximum saddle height is 130.3 cm (51.3"). The product itself weighs 69 kg (152.1 lbs). For shipping, the weight is 80.5 kg (177.5 lbs). The required footprint for the equipment is 153.6 x 56.5 cm (60.5" x 22.2"), with overall dimensions of 153.6 x 56.5 x 147.9 cm (60.5" x 22.2" x 58.2"). The minimum clearance width for ADA recommended passage around MATRIX equipment is 0.91 meters (36") for individuals in wheelchairs.
The power accuracy of this model has been tested using the test method of ISO 20957-5:2016 to ensure a power accuracy within a tolerance of ±10 % for input power ≥50 W, and within a tolerance of ±5 W for input power <50 W. The braking system is a speed-independent braking system, where the user can adjust the resistance by independently adjusting the RPM of the crank axle.
The heart rate function is not a medical device. Heart rate readings are intended only as an exercise aid. When used in conjunction with a wireless chest transmitter, heart rate can be transmitted wirelessly to the unit and displayed on the console. It is compatible with Bluetooth, ANT+ and Polar 5kHz heart rate devices. The chest strap must be tight and properly placed to receive an accurate and consistent readout. If the chest strap is too loose, or positioned improperly, it may cause an erratic or inconsistent heart rate readout.
The console's RFID sensor supports standards with a carrier frequency of 13.56 MHz, including ISO 14443 A, ISO 15693, ISO 14443 B, Sony Felica, Inside Contact-less (HID iClass), and LEGIC RF. The USB 2.0 port provides device charging (output rating 5V/2A) and supports device media and software updates. The headphone jack outputs audio from the console to connected 3.5mm headphones.
The console offers a "GO" one-touch start for immediate workouts. During a workout, a "PAUSE" function is displayed on-screen, allowing users to temporarily stop their workout. The pause duration can be set in manager or engineering mode. Pressing "STOP" ends the workout and displays a workout summary. An "ENERGY SAVER LIGHT" indicates when the machine is in energy saver mode, and a "MOTION SENSOR" allows users to wake the console by waving a hand over the sensor. The "RFID SENSOR" provides wireless login access.
The login screen allows users to sign in with their XID, log in as a guest, or register a new XID. Users can also change the language. For new users, registration involves accepting terms and conditions and entering an XID and passcode. The "GO SCREEN" allows users to begin a workout immediately or select a specific workout. The "PROGRAM SETUP" screen enables users to adjust program settings, including resistance and duration, before starting a workout.
The "HOME SCREEN" displays workout statistics, allows returning to the home screen, adjusts volume, pairs Bluetooth devices, and controls resistance levels. Users can also use the keypad to set resistance, change resistance levels, pause/resume workouts, and increase/decrease workout duration. The console also features an "APPS AND ENTERTAINMENT" section, offering a wide range of applications such as Simple (workout stats), Track (track progress), Virtual Active (immersive courses), Workout History, Sprint 8 (HIIT program), Target Heart Rate, Fitness Test, Change Workout, Change Weight, My Media (connect and control audio/video via USB), Facility Calendar, Spotify, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Web Browser, Weather, Netflix, Flipboard, Hulu, Kindle Reader, YouTube, and Solitaire Suite.
Proper usage involves sitting on the seat facing the handlebars. To determine the correct seat position, place one foot on each pedal; the knee should bend slightly at the furthest pedal position without locking the knees or shifting weight. Seat height and fore-aft position can be adjusted while standing with feet on the floor. Pedal straps should be adjusted to desired tightness. Users can set resistance or choose a program and rotate pedals in a controlled manner. To dismount, reverse the usage steps.
Regular maintenance is crucial for smooth operation and longevity. After each use, the bike should be turned off by unplugging the power cord, wiped down with a damp cloth (avoiding solvents), and the power cord inspected for damage. The power cord should not be pinched or cut. Daily maintenance includes ensuring the indoor cycle is level and does not rock. Weekly maintenance involves turning off the bike, cleaning the entire machine with water and mild soap (or Matrix-approved alcohol/ammonia-free solutions), and cleaning all exterior parts, including the steel frame, stabilizers, seat, and handlebars.
Bi-weekly maintenance requires lubricating the saddle post by raising it to the MAX position, spraying with maintenance spray, and rubbing down the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth. The saddle slide should also be cleaned with a soft cloth, and a small amount of lithium/silicone grease applied if necessary. Monthly maintenance involves inspecting all assembly bolts and pedals for proper tightness.
Every six months, the right service panel should be removed. The break assembly should be rotated counterclockwise until it hits the hard stop, and the gear should be cleaned of old grease and re-applied with a lithium-based grease. The flywheel clutch cap should be unfastened, the wavy washer removed, and belt debris wiped off before reinstallation.
All part removal or replacement must be performed by a qualified service technician. Only replacement parts supplied by the local MATRIX dealer should be used. Labels and nameplates should not be removed; if unreadable or missing, contact the dealer. Preventative maintenance is key, and equipment should be inspected at regular intervals. Any adjustments or repairs must be performed by qualified personnel. MATRIX dealers provide service and maintenance training at their corporate facility.
