CHECKING THE RAISING RELIEF VALVE

Keep dirt, water and other contaminants
from entering the hydraulic system. Be-
fore opening the hydraulic fl uid reservoir
fi ller cap, drain plug and hydraulic lines,
clean up contaminants that can get in
the openings. Also, protect the openings
from accidental contamination during
maintenance.

5. Check pump inlet fi lter in the reservoir
(FIGS. 48-1 and 48-2). Clean or replace
fi lter, if necessary.

7. After replacing or reinstalling the relief valve,
reset the valve to factory pressure settings
as shown in FIGS. 48-1 and 48-2. See
Relief Valve Pressure Adjustment in this
manual.
6. Check for dirty relief valve (FIGS. 48-1 and
48-2). Clean or replace relief valve, if neces-
sary.
