F. While setting up the Aluminum Ramp Kit
keep work area clean and well lighted. Keep
spectators and children out of the work area.
3. Use of the Aluminum Ramp Kit
A. Do not modify this product and do not
use this product for purposes that it was not
designed for.
B. Each Aluminum Ramp is designed to be
bolted to a solid, hardwood plank (2” thick,
8” wide, with plank length determined by the
height of the loading area this Ramp is to be
used with - see height guidelines on Pages 4
and 5 of this manual. Planks must be pur-
chased separately and are not included in
the Aluminum Ramp Kit.
C. The maximum
load capacity of each Ramp is 700 Lbs. Do
not exceed this maximum capacity. Note:
The Ramp maximum load capacity may
exceed the maximum load capacity of the
planks used. Planks may need reinforce-
ment. Use extreme caution when selecting
planks for each Ramp.
D. Always wear ANSI approved
safety goggles when loading and unloading.
E. Use safety equipment. Wear
a hard hat, safety shoes and work gloves
when loading and unloading.
F. Never ride on or drive a powered vehicle
up or down the Ramps. Equipment should
be rolled up or down the Ramps, or pulled
with a winch. If using a winch, read and un-
derstand all safety warnings and instructions
provided by the manufacturer of the winch.
G. When the Aluminum Ramps are connect-
ed to a vehicle for loading or unloading, the
vehicle must be parked on a solid, level loca-
tion, safely away from tra󰀩c; the vehicle’s
engine must be OFF, with parking brake ON,
and wheels chocked.
H. Always secure both Ramps to the vehi-
cle, tailgate or loading surface with tie-downs
and/or rope (both not included) before each
use. Make sure that the Ramps are solidly
in place and will not move, or slide while
loading/unloading.
I. The Aluminum Ramps, wood planks and
the tailgate of the vehicle must all be clean
and dry before loading/unloading. Check to
make sure hardware is tightly secured.
J. Be careful when handling the Aluminum
Ramps; the Aluminum Ramps have sharp
edges which can cause injury.
K. If Aluminum Ramps are connected to a
vehicle’s tailgate, the tailgate must be rated
to support the maximum rated capacity of
700 Lbs. per Ramp (1400 Lbs. total).
L. Be aware of the danger of “dynamic
loading”. This situation arises when a load
is dropped onto the Aluminum Ramps and
wood planks, resulting in a short term ex-
cessive load. Dynamic loading can result in
damage and failure of the Aluminum Ramps,
the wood planks, and/or damage to the
vehicle, and personal injury to the person
loading or unloading equipment.
M. The Aluminum Ramps are for use with
2 or 4 wheeled vehicles. Do not use these
Ramps to load a 3 wheeled vehicle. The
tires of the vehicle being loaded must not
be wider than the 8” width of the wooden
planks.
N. Never use the Aluminum Ramps and
wood planks to load people or animals into
a vehicle. Keep children and spectators
away when loading, unloading and using this
product.
