3.1 EPIRB controls and indicators
3.1.1 Top view
ON button
Activate EPIRB by
lifting the red cover and
pressing the ON button
for >2 seconds.
OFF button
Deactivate EPIRB
by lifting the grey
cover and pressing
the OFF button for
>2 seconds.
Strobe lights
Three high intensity LEDs.
When EPIRB is activated, the
strobe lights flash, providing a
visual means of locating the
EPIRB.
Green LED
Indicates
correct/normal
function.
Red LED
Slow flash:
acquiring GNSS location.
Rapid flash:
EPIRB malfunction.
Antenna
Must be vertical
and have a clear
view of the sky for
optimum
performance.
GNSS Antenna
(under dome)
Must have a clear view
of the sky for optimum
performance.
