  Several factors can cause insufficient cooling capacity in your McQuay Air Conditioner. It could be due to the unit standing idle for too long, resulting in refrigerant absorption by the oil. Other causes include insufficient airflow through the condenser (due to a dirty condenser, obstructions, or fan issues) or through the evaporator (due to a dirty evaporator, ice buildup, a dirty air filter, or obstructions). An overloaded room, or open windows and doors can also be the culprit. Clean or replace filters, remove obstructions, ensure proper fan operation, and close windows and doors. Recalculate heat load if needed.

  If the blower operates but the compressor doesn't start on your McQuay AC, it could be due to several reasons: the thermostat might be set too high, the heat valve could be open, there might be low voltage, a faulty pushbutton switch, a faulty connection at the switch, defective wiring to the thermostat, loose connections at the compressor terminals, defective wiring to the compressor terminals, loose connections in the compressor overload device, a malfunctioning starting capacitor, or a defective compressor motor. Adjust the thermostat, close the heat valve, check the voltage, replace the switch or wiring, tighten connections, or replace the capacitor. If the compressor motor is defective, *Replace cooling chassis prepaid to nearest McQuay authorized warranty station.

Check the voltage supply, clean the condenser inside and out, and ensure there's no recirculation of condenser air. Install air 'splitters' if they are missing. Verify that the condenser blower/fan is operating correctly. Also, check the compressor for a short circuit. If the compressor is defective, *ship cooling chassis to nearest McQuay authorized warranty station.
