6. Preparing for pumping
l Wash your hands thoroughly (for
approx. one minute) with soap
and water before you touch your
breast and the pump parts.

Insert the stem (with the
O-ring) into the hole on the
upper side of the diaphragm.
The stem and diaphragm are
parts of the pump’s handle.

Carefully insert the breast
shield into the top opening of
the connector.

I Check that the (white) O-ring is
still placed around the stem:

The O-ring makes a sealed
connection between the handle
and the 2-component connector
possible. This is necessary to
build up a vacuum.
