8. Turn the chain tension nut so that the chai
n tension screw is
visible in the centre of the small hole in the bar.
9. Tension the chain by turning the chain tensioning nut
clockwise. It should be possible to lift the chain about 3 mm in
the middle of the bar.
10. Replace the cover over the sprocket.
11. Tighten the lock nut that holds the cover in place.
Check and adjust the chain tension regularly for best performance and long service life. The chain
expands and needs to be tensioned when it gets warm.
A new chain needs to be tensioned frequently, until it reaches its full length.
OPERATION
Use environmentally friendly chain lubricant!
Always check the safety equipme
nt and make sure that moving parts are working correctly before using
the machine. All parts must be fitted correctly and satisfy applicable requirements to ensure that the
machine works correctly.
Oil sight glass
Always check the oil sight glass before cutting(13) . Top up the oil when the oil level is about 5 mm
from the lower mark. The chain is correctly lubricated as long as the oil level is above this mark.
Chain lubrication
The machine has automatic chain lubrication.
Never saw without lubricat
ion. The entire cutting system will be damaged severely very quickly if the
chain runs dry. It is therefore important to check that chain lubrication is working.
Follow the instructions below to check that the chain lubrication is working correctly.
• Start the chain saw and hold it off the ground. Keep a safety distance of 20 cm.
• Make sure that you see growing traces of oil. If so, the lubrication is working correctly.
If you do not see any traces of oil at all, clean the oil outlet and the oil duct or contact your nearest service
centre.
Chain brake
Always check that the chain brake is working properly.
When the chain brak
e (3) is pushed forward with the back of your hand, the chain saw stops within 0.15
seconds.
Release the chain brake by pulling it backwards towards the housing.
