Fault Cause Action
The motor will not start. No power supply. Check the outlet sockets, power
cord and plug
Damaged power cord: Let the
service centre replace the
power cord.
A damaged power switch must
be replaced at the nearest
service centre.
Chain brake applied. See the section about the chain
brake and release the chain
brake.
Worn carbon brushes. Replace the carbon brushes.
Consult the nearest service
centre.
The chain does not move. Chain brake activated. Check the chain brake. Release
it if necessary.
Poor cutting performance. Blunt chain. Sharpen the chain.
Wrong chain tension. Check the chain tension.
Chain fitted incorrectly. Check that the chain is fitted
properly.
The saw is sluggish / The chain
jumps off.
Chain tension Check the chain tension.
The chain becomes hot. Chain lubrication. Check the oil level.
Check the chain lubrication.
