4. Set the tiller handle gear shift to neutral ("N") position.

5. If the engine is cold, press the fuel primer in twice.
IMPORTANT: Avoid engine flooding ‑ Do not press in the fuel
primer if engine is warm. This will inject fuel into the engine and
may cause a hard starting flooded condition.

6. Cold engine ‑ Pull out the choke knob for starting. Push in
the choke knob after engine starts to warm up.

IMPORTANT: Outboards with battery charging capabilities must
not be operated with battery cables disconnected from the
battery. Damage to the charging system may result.
