2 Maintenance
2. Use the wrench to tighten the adjusting ring opposite to the
bearing crown side (Fig. 2.51). When one of the dial indicators
moves, this is a “Zero” preload.
Remove the 2 dial indicators.
3. Mark the top notch and cap (Fig. 2.52) and rotate the
adjusting ring to 3, max 4 notches from cap’s mark. Fig. 2.53
4. Punch the top of the cap with a mallet while rotating the drive
gear, to set the 2 diff. tapered bearings during adjusting ring
rotation.

Divergence = 0.15 - 0.33 mm
