CAUTION: ABRASIVE MATERIALS SHOULD NOT BE RUN THROUGH THE MICROFLUIDIZER UNLESS
THE UNIT WAS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR SUCH AN APPLICATION.
Maintaining Connections and Fittings
All high pressure connections on the LV1 are coned and threaded connections. DO NOT use Teflon
tape on the fittings. These connections provide a metal āto-metal seal with the gland providing
the sealing force.
The threads on the collar and piping are left-hand threads. Turn the collar counterclockwise until
there are approximately 2-3 threads exposed. When assembling, tighten the glands finger tight.
Then, with a wrench, tighten to the recommended torque. For required torque, refer to Drawing
#B-11028 Coned and Threaded Connections on the CD.
CAUTION: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THESE FITTINGS AS EXCESSIVE TORQUE WILL DEFORM THE
METAL-TO-METAL SEALING SURFACE. DAMAGE TO THE SEALING SURFACES OF THE TUBING OR
THE FITTING SEAT WILL RESULT IN LEAKAGE THROUGH THE WEEP HOLE IN THE FITTING.
CAUTION: IF ANY CONED AND THREADED CONNECTIONS ARE LOOSENED TO REMOVE
COMPONENTS, THEY MUST BE FULLY DISASSEMBLED AND CLEANED BEFORE REASSEMBLY.
