Bases
Bases are needed in order to receive measurement information from Mobile Modules and RS-
232 Remotes. Bases are available with a 9-pin RS-232 connector or a USB connector. The
USB Base and USB MicroBase requires the installation of a driver on your PC. Once the driver
is installed and the Base is connected, the application software on the PC will communicate with
the Base via a virtual RS-232 serial port.
If you want the Base output to appear as keyboard input to your application, use the MC-RS232-
BASE-SP-PKG product. The USB interface cable is only required if you need to configure
and/or use an RS-232 Base with a computer that does not have a serial port.
