About Xbox Live
Xbox Live allows your system to access the
internet and interact with other players through
multiplayer. In order to use Xbox Live you
must have the following:
A registered gamer profile
A registered Microsoft account
Purchased Xbox Live membership
license
Internet source
Wireless internet adapter or Ethernet
cable
Setting up Xbox Live
Step 1: Turn on your Xbox 360 by pressing the
power button on your Xbox.
Step 2: Press the home button on the controller
(the middle button with the Xbox logo).
Step 3: Scroll rightward using the left analog
stick to the settings tab.
Step 4: Scroll down to “System Settings” and
press A to select it.
Step 5: Scroll down to “network settings” and
press A again.
Step 6: Skip to step 9 if using a wireless
connection, otherwise proceed to step 7 if
using a direct connection.
Step 7: Connect an Ethernet cable to the
Ethernet port at the back of the system, and
then to your modem or other internet source.

Step 8: Select the wired network icon by
hovering over it and pressing A.
Step 9: If using a wireless connection, connect
the wireless adapter to the system by first
connecting the USB and then locking the
adapter to the mounts at the back of console
(see fig. 7).

Step 10: select the desired network from the
list of detected wireless networks and press A
to connect to that network.
Step 11: Enter the network password if
prompted.
