This appliance complies with the requisites of Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/CE and EMC 2004/108/CE Directive and subsequent
amendments.
CAUTION
WARNING
Do not remove any mechanical components: danger of
electric shock. Contact an authorised person.
Always connect the protected earth conductor.
Read the instruction booklet with due care and attention
before use. Check that the charge curve selected
matches the type of battery to be charged.
SYMBOLS
The lightning bolt symbol inside a triangle warns the reader that non-
insulated “dangerous voltage” is present inside the appliance housing; this
may be high enough to represent a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation mark inside a triangle notifies the reader that the documen-
tation provided with the appliance contains important instructions for use
and maintenance (service).
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The battery charger was designed to guarantee a safe and reliable performance. Nevertheless, we recommend the following precautions in order to
prevent injury or damage to the battery charger:
1. Read the installation instructions provided in this manual with due care and attention. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference;
2. Place the battery charger on a flat and stable surface;
3. To prevent overheating, make sure than none of the apertures are blocked. Do not place the battery charger near heat sources. Make sure there
is enough free space around the battery charger to safeguard correct ventilation and ready access to the cable connectors;
4. To charge open-type batteries: WARNING: EXPLOSIVE GAS – avoid sparks or naked flames;
5. The battery must be charged in a properly ventilated area in compliance with legal standards / current legislation;
6. Protect the battery charger from water spray and do not pour any liquid inside it;
7. Check the specifications of the power supply match the envisaged voltage as indicated on the specifications plate on the battery charger. Contact
your dealer or your electricity provider in case of doubt;
8. A class AC circuit breaker can be fitted on the power supply to the battery charger as a safety device but we recommend using a class A or class
B circuit breaker;
9. Avoid running the power cord where it could get in the way. Replace the cord immediately if it becomes worn or damaged;
10. Should you use an extension cord or multiple socket, make sure it supports the total amount of current draw;
11. Do not use for charging batteries fitted on board vehicles with a heat engine;
12. Check the rated voltage of the battery for charging matches the rated voltage on the specifications plate on the battery charger;
13. To prevent voltage drops and ensure the battery is fully charged, the output cables must be as short as possible and their section must be
sufficient for the output current;
14. Do not attempt to repair the battery charger. Opening the cover could put you at risk of electric shock;
15. Should the battery charger fail to operate correctly or be damaged, disconnect the main power supply and the battery connector immediately and
contact your dealer;
16. For the battery charger to operate efficiently, the following items must be checked at least once a year: external AC fuses, external AC
switch, internal output fuse, internal fans (cleansing recommended).
