Maintenance Features
Regular cleaning and proper care are essential for the longevity and safe operation of the microwave oven.
- Cleaning the Cavity: After use, the oven cavity should be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth.
- Cleaning Accessories: Accessories like the glass tray and turntable ring assembly should be cleaned in soapy water.
- Door Frame and Seal: The door frame, door seal, and neighboring parts require careful cleaning with a damp cloth when dirty.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers on the oven door glass to prevent scratching and potential shattering.
- Cleaning Tip: For easier cleaning of cavity walls, place half a lemon in a bowl with 300ml (1/2 pint) water and heat on 100% microwave power for 10 minutes, then wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth.
- Grounding: The appliance must be properly grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if grounding instructions are unclear.
- Utensil Safety: Only microwave-safe utensils should be used. Metal, metal-trimmed, or oversized metal utensils, as well as sealed containers and whole eggs, should be avoided to prevent arcing, fire, or explosion. A utensil test procedure is provided to check if a non-metallic utensil is safe for microwaving.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting chart to help users identify and resolve common issues, such as the oven not starting, arcing/sparking, unevenly cooked food, overcooked/undercooked food, and improper defrosting. If problems persist, users are advised to contact an authorized service center.
