Turning off for longer periods
of time
If the appliance is not going to be used
for a longer period of time:
 turn the appliance off,
 unplug the appliance or disconnect
the fuse,
 close the shut-off valve in the water
supply line (approx. 3hours before
switching off the appliance to avoid
the build-up of bacteria caused by
stagnant water),
 empty the ice cube tray,
 clean the appliance,
 replace the water filter and
 leave the door ajar to air the appli-
ance and avoid odors building up in-
side the appliance.
If, during a long absence, the appli-
ance is switched off but not cleaned
and the door is left shut, there is a
danger of bacteria building up inside
the appliance.
