Original Instructions Version October 12
QUICKSPLIT STROKE LIMITATION
You can limit the length of the splitting stroke, for example when splitting
shorter lengths of wood. To use the stroke limiter:
1. Loosen the stroke limiting screw (16).
2. Position a piece of timber on the splitting table against the
splitting wedge.
3. Press both the hydraulic control lever and motor control switch
and move the push block until it is approximately 2cm from the
timber.
4. Release the motor control switch and the splitting blade should
remain stationary in this position.
5. Slide the locking collar (15) towards the frame of the splitter as
shown until it is stopped by the frame.
6. Tighten the stroke limiting screw (16) and release the hydraulic
control lever. The pushblock should remain in place.
REPLACING HYDRAULIC OIL
Replace the Hydraulic oil in the log splitter after every 150 hours of use. Take
the following steps to replace it.
• Make sure all moving parts stop and the log splitter is unplugged.
• Unscrew the Oil Drain Bolt with Dipstick to remove it.
Turn the log splitter on the Support Leg side using a 4 litre capacity container
to drain the hydraulic oil o.
Turn the log splitter on the the motor side.
Rell with fresh HLP22 hydraulic oil to the volume as per the hydraulic oil
capacity indicated in the specications table.
Clean the surface of the Dipstick on the Oil Drain Bolt and put it back into
the oil tank while keeping the log splitter vertical.
Make sure the level of the relled oil is between the 2 grooves marked on
the Dipstick.
• Clean the Oil Drain Bolt before screwing it back in. Make sure it is tightened
to avoid leakage before placing the log splitter horizontally.
Periodically check the oil level to ensure it is between the 2 grooves marked
on the Dipstick. Oil relling is required if the oil level is low.
SHARPENING WEDGE
This log splitter is equipped with a reinforced splitting wedge with a specially
treated blade. After long periods of operation, and when required; sharpen
the wedge using a ne-toothed le removing any burrs or at spots on the
edge.
