On vehicles with a third seat, when return-
ing the second seat while there are occu-
pants in the third seat, be careful not to
trap the feet of the third seat occupants
with the second seat.
2. Push down the seats until they click to firmly
lock in place.
NOTE
l
Luggage can be loaded while the seatbacks
are folded forward.
3. Fold up the seatback while pulling the lock re-
lease belt on the rear of the seatback.
4. After returning the seatback, lightly push the
seat and seatback to make sure they are set
firmly in place.
Making a flat seat

By removing the head restraints and fully reclining
the seatbacks of the seats, one large flat seat is ach-
ieved.
WARNING
l
Never drive while there are occupants sit-
ting on the flat seat. This can be extreme-
ly dangerous.
CAUTION
l
To make a flat seat, stop the vehicle in a
safe place.
l
Make sure the seat is adjusted by an
adult or with adult supervision for cor-
rect and safe operation.
l
When sliding the seat, be sure not to
catch your hand or leg.
l
Do not walk around on top of the seats af-
ter they have been laid flat.
l
To ensure the seats are locked securely, at-
tempt to move them back and forth.
l
Do not jump on, or impact the seatbacks
heavily.
l
To raise the seatback, raise it slowly
while supporting it with your hand. Nev-
er let a child perform this operation. Do-
ing so could result in an accident.
1. Remove the head restraints from the front
seats, raise the armrest and remove the cargo
area cover (if so equipped).
