4 Troubleshooting
No. 99MAF029B
Problem Cause Solution
The probe vibrates when
making plane scanning
measurements.
The probe may vibrate
depending on the
condition of the surface of
the workpiece.
Change the movement direction of the probe,
and if the vibration stops, limit the movements
to that direction.
y
The displayed values
flicker or disappear
temporarily.
y
An accurate
measurement result
cannot be obtained.
y
The power is turned off
automatically.
The product is used in
environments where
electromagnetic
interference exceeds
requirements defined in
the EMC Directive.
y
The product will return to normal after
removing the electromagnetic interference
caused by electrostatic discharge.
y
If this problem is due to electromagnetic
interference acting on the AC or DC power
line, check the circumference of the power
line, and then make a measurement again.
y
If a brownout occurs, the product will return
to normal after the recovery from the low
voltage.
When the displayed value is held, and the workpiece cannot be measured
Ensure that metal fitting A of the probe is in the center between metal fitting B and C.

If metal fitting A is not in the center, turn the clamp knob left, and move metal fitting A vertically into
the center. From this position, turn the clamp knob right as far as possible, and then turn it left about 5
rotations. The hold function will be released, and measurements can be made again.
