If your Monarch Water Dispenser is over or under dosing salt, there are several potential causes and solutions:
* Ensure the brine drum/valve is level.
* Break up any bridged salt in the drum.
* Verify the brine valve is set correctly; if faulty, replace it. Clean the brine valve, venturi throat, nozzle, brine screen/fitting, or brine flow control if plugged.

Why won't my Monarch Water Dispenser regenerate automatically?
S
Stephanie FlemingAug 13, 2025
If your Monarch Water Dispenser doesn't regenerate automatically, it could be due to several reasons:
* The meter disc might not be turning; you can refer to problem #1 for more details.
* The control disc may not advance out of the service position; in this case, replace the regeneration start pawl.
* If there are damaged teeth on the control disc, replace the control disc.
* Check the control valve for debris and clean if present. Also, ensure the drain line/backwash flow control is not restricted; remove any restrictions or change the backwash flow control if necessary.

J
Jeremy CowanAug 20, 2025
If there is no vacuum in the brine position of your Monarch Water Dispenser, consider the following:
* Replace or reseat any missing or incorrectly seated check balls or stems. Clean or replace if they don't move freely.
* Clean the flow control, venturi throat, and nozzle, being careful not to use a paper clip.
* Clear any obstructions from the drain line or clean/replace the flow control. Clean the brine screen/fitting.
* Replace the main valve seat seal if damaged.

What to do if my Monarch Water Dispenser by-pass is open or leaking?
B
bryanmurphyAug 27, 2025
If the by-pass on your Monarch Water Dispenser is open or leaking:
* Ensure it hasn't been accidentally left in the 'Open' position and close the by-pass valve.
* If there is a damaged seal/spool in the by-pass valve, or a bad ball valve in a three-way by-pass configuration, repair or replace the faulty valve(s). To check for an internal leak, open a soft water tap and run the water with the unit in service position, disconnect the brine line from the brine elbow. If this water is soft and the water at the tap is hard, replace/repair the by-pass valve.
