Monitoring a Channel

Conventional Modes
Procedure:
1. Lift the microphone off the hook.
2. Listen for activity on that channel.
3. Adjust the Volume Knob if necessary.
4. If you hear no activity, press and hold the PTT
button to start your conversation.
Trunked Modes
Procedure:
1. Lift the microphone off the hook.
2. Press the PTT button.
3. If you hear two, short, high-pitched tones, or if
you hear no tone and the indicator lights up
steadily, then proceed with your message.
4. Release the PTT button to receive transmission.
If you are not in the range of the system, you may
hear a continuous low-pitched tone and the display
shows OUT OF RANGE.
