Types of Radio Calls
Your radio can make talkgroup, private, and enhanced private calls in conventional and/or trunking
mode.
Call Type Conventional

Talkgroup Call
A Talkgroup Call is a point-to-multi-
point call operation. Your radio must
be configured as a member of the talk-
group for you to communicate within
the talkgroup.
Private Call
A Private Call is a call from one indi-
vidual radio to another.
Enhanced Private Call
This feature allows you to send a fol-
low up Call Alert Page immediately af-
ter a private call to a target radio is un-
answered.
Selective Call
A Selective Call is a call from an indi-
vidual radio to another individual radio
with privacy.
Call Alert Page
Allows the radio to function like a pag-
er, or to verify if a radio is active on the
system.

Making Calls on the Radio
Procedure:
1 Perform one of the following actions based on the type of radio call:

Talkgroup Call
a See Selecting a Zone on page 32 and
Selecting a Channel on page 33 to en-
sure that you are in the preferred zone
and channel.
b To transmit, press and hold the PTT but-
ton.
