SCSI Device Expansion
Module
4-2
A cooling
sensor
for
the
SCSI Device Expansion
Module
is
on
the
backplane.
The
backplane
contains
the
comparator
circuitry to
determine
cooling failure.
Two
thresholds
are
used.
The
lower
temperature
threshold
sends
an
open
collector signal
back
to
the
host
and
illuminates
the
yellow LED
on
the rear
of
the
SCSI Device Expansion Module.
The
higher
threshold
powers
off
the
SCSI
Device Expansion
Module
protecting
its contents regardless of
the
action
taken
by
the
host. A voltage
sensing
circuit
sends
a signal
back
to the
host
when
the
DC
output
of
the
power
supply
has
dropped
out.
