2.3 Obligations of the manufacturers of complete systems
Tasks for system development, installation and commissioning of electric systems
may only be performed by trained and experienced staff, see Chapter 2.2 Staff
qualifications.
The manufacturer of the complete system must ensure that no defective or faulty
control units are used. In case of failure or malfunctions, the control unit must be
replaced immediately.
The manufacturer of the complete system must ensure that the circuity and
programming of the control unit do not lead to a safety-relevant malfunction of the
complete system in case of a failure or malfunction.
The manufacturer of the complete system is responsible for the correct
connection of all the peripherals (such as cable profiles, plugs, crimps, correct
selection/connection of sensors/actuators).
The control unit may not be opened.
No changes and/or repairs may be performed on the control unit.
If the control unit falls down, it may no longer be used and must be returned to
MRS to be checked.
The manufacturer of the complete system must inform the end customer about all
potential dangers.
The manufacturer must also take the following aspects into consideration
when using the control unit:
Control units with wiring suggestions provided by MRS do not constitute a
systematic responsibility for complete systems.
Safe operation cannot be guaranteed for control units used as prototypes or
samples in the complete system.
Faulty circuitry and programming of the control unit may lead to unforeseen
signals to the outputs of the control unit.
Faulty programming or parameter setting of the control unit may lead to dangers
during operation of the complete system.
It must be ensured when the control unit is released that the supply of the electric
system, of the final stages and of the external sensor supply are shut down jointly.
Control units without factory-made software programmed more than 500 times
may not be used in complete systems any longer.
