Install Wndows XP Notes
Ths secton descrbes how to nstall Wndows XP wth IDE or AHCI mode.
Installng Wndows XP wth IDE Mode
You wll fal and encounter a blue screen whle nstallng Wndows XP, because t s
not natvely supported to be nstalled n the storage devce wth AHCI mode. If you stll
prefer to nstall Wndows XP as the operatng system, please change the BIOS tem as
below.
Refer to Chapter 2 to access BIOS.
Go to SETTINGS → Integrated Perpherals → SATA Mode.

Set ths tem to IDE mode.
Go to SETTINGS → Save & Ext → Save changes and reboot.
Install the Wndows XP operatng system.
Installng Wndows XP wth AHCI Mode
If you prefer to nstall Wndows XP as the operatng system wth AHCI mode, please
prepare AHCI drvers for Wndows XP n advanced.
Creatng a Intel AHCI Drver Dsc
Please follow the nstructon below to make an “AHCI Drver” for yourself.
Insert the MSI DVD nto the DVD-ROM drve.
Clck the “Browse CD” on the Setup screen.
Copy all the contents from \\Storage\Intel\PCH 7\f6󰘱py-x86 or f6󰘱py-x64 to a
formatted 󰘱oppy dskette.
The drver dskette s done.
