4.4 Using PowerCinema and MakeDVD
Moives Function
If your computer came with a DVD
drive, you can play movies from DVDs
and Video CDs (VCDs or SVCDs) with
the Movies function in PowerCinema.
This player has the features and
controls of a normal living-room DVD
player.
When you insert a disc into the DVD
drive, the movie begins to play
automatically. To control the movie, the
pop-up control panel appears at the
bottom of the screen when you move
the mouse.
If there is more than one drive that contains a playable disc, click the Movies
button on the Home page to bring up the Movies page, then select the disc in
the list on the right.
The currently-playing disc will be shown in the area above the list of drives.
This page is also displayed when you press the Stop button during a movie.
The buttons on the left side include Resume movie (to start the movie from
the point it was stopped), Restart (to start the movie from the beginning),
Main menu (goes to a DVD/SVCD’s main menu), and Eject (opens the
disc drive door).
To change DVD settings, click the Settings button and change the settings in
DVD/VCD Settings.
When viewing DVDs/VCDs/SVCDs, the following special controls are added
to the pop-up panel: Main Menu (goes to a DVD/SVCD’s main menu),
Subtitles (switches among available subtitle languages), Language
(switches among available overdub languages), and Angle (switches among
available camera angles), Video Desktop (replaces your desktop wallpaper
with the video display), and Snapshot (takes a snapshot of the current frame
of video).
