NOTE: The new breather valve is a rubber umbrella valve,
that is pressed into an aluminum disk. See Figure
5.15.
NOTE: The valve is not serviceable. Trying to remove the
rubber valve will cause the bottom of the valve to
break off. When this happens the broken piece will
get lodged into the breather port of the engine,
requiring the crankshaft to be removed to get it out.
7. Reassemble the PCV.
8. Tighten the cover bolts to a torque of 27 in-lbs. (3
Nm).
9. Inspect the PCV tubing for cracks, brittleness or
signs of leaking. Replace the PCV tube if any are
found. See Figure 5.16.
10. Re-assemble the engine by following the above steps
in reverse order.
11. Test run the engine before returning to service.
