CLUTCH-BRAKE
PEDAL
The
clutch-brake
pedal
is
located
on
the
left
side
of
the
tractor.
See
figure
13.
Depressing
the
pedal
dis¬
engages
the
engine
from
the
hydrostatic
transmission
and
applies
the
brake.
NOTE:
The
clutch-brake
pedal
must
be
depressed
to
start
the
engine.
PARKING
BRAKE
To
set
the
parking
brake,
depress
the
clutch-brake
pedal
and
pull
up
the
parking
brake
knob.
It
will
stay
in
the
raised
position.
To
release
the
parking
brake,
depress
and
release
the
clutch-brake
pedal.

NOTE:
The
parking
brake
must
be
set
if
the
operator
leaves
the
seat
with
the
engine
running.
A
hydrostatic
relief
valve
is
provided
so
the
unit
can
be
moved
without
the
engine
running.
The
lever
which
operates
the
relief
valve
is
located
on
the
console.

16.
To
operate
the
relief
valve,
place
the
hydrostatic
control
lever
in
neutral,
release
the
parking
brake,
push
the
lever
forward
and
to
the
right
to
lock.
Be
certain
to
release
the
lever
by
pushing
it
to
the
left
before
operating
the
engine.

NOTE:
The
PTO
switch
must
be
in
OFF
position
when
starting
the
engine,
when
shifting
into
reverse
and
if
the
operator
leaves
the
seat.
INDICATOR
LIGHTS
The
unit
is
equipped
with
three
indicator
lights,
located
on
the
dash
panel.
See
figure
16.
If
a
light
illuminates
when
attempting
to
start
the
unit,
proceed
as
follows:
CLUTCH—Depress
the
clutch
pedal.
PTO—Disengage
the
PTO.
OIL—Check
the
crankcase
oil
level,
and
add
oil
as
required.
CUTTING
CONTROLS
A.
LIFT
LEVER
The
lift
lever
is
used
to
raise
and
lower
the
cutting
deck
or
other
attachments.
B.
DECK
HEIGHT
ADJUSTMENT
INDICATOR
The
deck
height
adjustment
indicator
is
used
to
mark
the
cutting
height.
To
select
a
cutting
height,
place
the
lift
lever
in
the
highest
position.
Dial
the
height
you
desire;
pull
the
lift
lever
out
of
the
notch
in
the
index
bracket
and
lower
the
handle
to
the
desired
position.
Place
the
lift
lever
into
the
closest
notch
in
the
index
bracket.
Turn
the
deck
height
adjustment
indicator
clockwise
for
a
higher
cutting
height;
turn
it
counterclockwise
for
a
lower
cutting
height.
IMPORTANT:
Do
not
attempt
to
change
the
deck
height
adjustment
indicator
when
the
lift
handle
is
locked
in
a
notch
on
the
index
bracket.
