System Transmissions
8. A system transmission consists of a number of complete batches, all belonging to one
system. There is no constraint on the number of batches within a system transmission.
9. Up to four independent system addresses may be accommodated within the Mk7
signal code. Paging receivers may be programmed to shutdown during transmissions
for other systems.
Batch Structure
10. A Batch consists of 16 codewords belonging to one system. Each codeword consists
of 32 bits, therefore each batch consists of 512 bits. The first three codewords are
reserved, forming a Batch header as follows:
a) Codeword 0 Syncword, used for codeword synchronisation.
b) Codeword 1 System/Time codeword, used for system and time marking.
c) Codeword 2 Date Codeword - May be replaced by the In-Range codeword
once a minute.
11. The last Batch of a system transmission must terminate in at least two Idle codewords.
This allows the paging receiver to revert to battery economy upon the detection of two
Idle codewords or two uncorrectable codewords.
