How to check for defective wall switch wiring in my Napoleon GD27 - N?
    • V
      Veronica CarlsonSep 8, 2025
To check for defective wall switch wiring, disconnect the switch wires from the valve and connect a jumper wire across terminals 1 & 3. If the main burner lights, check the wires for defects and replace them if necessary.

Why is the pilot light on in my Napoleon GD27 - N Furnace, but there's no gas to the main burner?
    • K
      Kathleen SullivanAug 23, 2025
If the pilot is burning but no gas is reaching the main burner, and the gas knob and thermostat are on, it could be due to a few reasons. The thermopile might be shorting, so clean the thermopile connection to the valve and reconnect it. Alternatively, if you're using a remote wall switch, the wire might be too long, causing too much resistance; shorten the wire or use a proper gauge. Finally, the thermostat or switch itself could be faulty and might need replacing.

How to fix a Napoleon GD27 - N Furnace pilot light that won't spark?
    • G
      gcolemanAug 25, 2025
If the pilot light on your Napoleon Furnace won't light and there's no spark at the pilot burner, first check if the pilot can be lit with a match. Verify that the wire is connected to the push-button igniter and that the igniter is properly tightened. If the wire insulation is broken or frayed, replace the wire.

What to do if the main burner goes out but the pilot stays on in my Napoleon GD27 - N Furnace?
    • N
      nmorganAug 26, 2025
If the main burner goes out but the pilot stays on in your Napoleon Furnace, it could be because the pilot flame isn't large enough or isn't fully engulfing the thermopile. Try turning up the pilot flame. If that doesn't work, you might need to replace the pilot assembly.

    • J
      Jonathan HawkinsSep 4, 2025
If the pilot light goes out while standing, and the main burner is in the 'OFF' position, check the door seal and relief flap seal. Also, check for any chimney blockage and ensure the chimney is installed according to building codes. The room might be experiencing negative pressure; increase the fresh air supply.
