2-14 Installing the N3000
Printer
A printer can be used to print reports and other documentation associated with most
operating systems and software.
To connect a printer to the N3000 Site Controller, do the following:
• Connect the printer to one of the USB ports on the back panel of the N3000. For
more information on the IO ports, refer to External Connectors on page6.
Note: Refer to the printer's user manual to determine the type of port connection
required for the printer. If needed, run the appropriate print driver software that
normally comes with PC printers.
Microphone and Speakers
A standard PC microphone and speakers can be connected to use the audio
functionality supported by the operating system and the installed software.
To connect the microphone and speakers to the N3000 Site Controller, do the following:
• Connect the microphone to the microphone jack (Microphone in) on the back panel
of the N3000.
• Connect the speaker or headphone to the speaker jack (Analog Line out) on the back
panel of the N3000.
For more information on the IO ports, refer to External Connectors on page6.
Connecting to a Network
Connecting to network enables the N3000 Site Controller to communicate with other
systems and devices that are also on the same network. Depending on the business
configuration, connecting to a network also enables access to the Internet.
• Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to either of the RJ45 ports on the back panel
of the N3000, and then connect the other end to a network hub or to a client device.
The Intel AMT Support port (color coded red) can be used as a network connection.
This port supports additional Intel AMT functionality. For more information on this
functionality, please refer to the Intel website:
