3. Exclude virtual machine files, especially hard disk files (.vhd), from virus-scans and real-time
scanning because this affects performance. In addition, install the standard anti-virus protection of
your organization into each virtual machine to protect the virtual machine directly.
After you install Windows and the necessary NEC drivers and third-party utilities, you must configure fault
tolerance for the components that the IPL and post-IPL procedures do not configure. Specifically, you must
configure fault tolerance for the network connection and hard disks.
