4. OPERATION
Before using a reagent, procure and administer the safety data
sheet (SDS).
When using a reagent, wear protective equipment and carry out
ventilation sufficiently. Reagents to be used for the instrument
include acute toxic and corrosive substances.
Pay special attention when handling the glass parts. There is a
risk of injury.
Dispose of effluent appropriately after using the instrument.
NECESSITIES FOR MEASUREMENT
(1) Distilled Water (used to clean impinger after measurement)
(2) Effluent Tank (used to keep effluent after measurement)
(3) Reagents
10% Stannous Chloride Solution
1:1 Sulfuric Acid
KOH (Potassium Hydroxide)
(4) Standard Mercury Liquid
ARTICLE RECOMMENDED FOR MEASUREMENT
(1) Apparatus for Dispensing Solution, Such As Micropipette
PREPARATIONS OF REAGENTS
* Use reagents that contain little mercury, such as ones for mercury analyses, for precise
analyses or for toxic metal measurements.
Pour distilled water into a beaker and add the same volume of sulfuric
acid slowly while cooling and stirring the solution.
* To prevent an accident caused by heating at the time of dilution,
we recommend that the following reagent be used:
64% sulfuric acid 500 mL [198-11565] manufactured by Wako Pure
