Overview

This document describes the 66EC(S)Ble keyboard, a highly programmable device designed for both office and gaming use, offering extensive customization and connectivity options.

Function Description:

The keyboard features a comprehensive set of functions accessible via special key combinations, primarily involving the FN key. It supports three Bluetooth devices (BD1, BD2, BD3), allowing for quick switching between them. Each Bluetooth slot can be put into pairing mode by long-pressing FN + *8, (9, or )0 respectively, with LED indicators showing the pairing status (fast flash for pairing, slow flash for reconnecting). A short press on these combinations initiates reconnection. The keyboard remembers the last connected device.

The "M" key (FN + +=) toggles between Office mode and Program mode. In Office mode, the "M" light is off, while in Program mode, it's on. This setting is remembered even after shutdown.

The trigger point of keys can be adjusted using FN + 7&, offering high or low stages. This setting is not remembered after shutdown, defaulting to the fit trigger point.

The keyboard can be locked/unlocked using FN + ESC. When locked, the ESC indicator enters a colorful breathing state. This setting is not remembered after shutdown.

A unique "Shift&Up" function (FN + ↑) allows the arrow up key to act as R shift when pressed for less than 700ms in combination with certain keys (1!/2@/3#/4$/5%/6^/7&/8*/9(/0)/-_/=+/;:/'''/,</.>/ /?). This feature is recommended for text editing and not remembered after shutdown.

The L-Ctrl and Caps Lock keys can be swapped by pressing FN + L-Ctrl for 3 seconds, indicated by a single flash. This setting is not remembered after shutdown. Similarly, the Win key can be locked/unlocked by pressing FN + Win for 3 seconds, also indicated by a single flash.

Technical Specifications & Usage Features:

Connectivity:

The keyboard supports both USB (wired) and Bluetooth connections. To switch between Bluetooth and wired modes, press FN + _-.

Bluetooth Operation:

The keyboard can be paired with up to three Bluetooth devices. Before pairing a new device, it's crucial to turn off the Bluetooth on any previously paired devices. The pairing process involves long-pressing FN + *8, (9, or )0 for 3 seconds until the Bluetooth indicator flashes quickly. Then, enable Bluetooth on the target device, select the keyboard, and enter the pairing code if prompted. Once paired, FN + *8, (9, or )0 can be used for short presses to switch between connected devices. The Bluetooth indicator provides status: fast flash for pairing, slow flash for reconnecting, solid for connected (turns off after 5 seconds).

Power Management:

The keyboard has adjustable power-down times (1-3 hours) by pressing Left FN/Right FN + T for 5 seconds. The default is 1 hour. Battery status is indicated by the _-button: solid for charging, off for full charge, flashing for low power.

Key Customization and Programming:

The keyboard offers extensive customization through its programming software. It operates in two modes: OFFICE (Standard) and Custom. In Custom mode, all keys can be reconfigured. The programming software allows for:

  • Single Key/Combine Keys: Assign single keys or combinations of up to six keys to a single input.
  • Macro Definition: Record a series of key presses, releases, and delays. Macros can include mouse actions and custom delays (50ms-60000ms).
  • Simulate Key Stroke: Replay a sequence of key strokes at a fast speed, with adjustable speed settings.
  • Multi-Media Functions: Assign various media playback and browser functions to keys.
  • Mouse Functions: Configure keys to control mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling, with adjustable unit time, unit pixel, and first delay.
  • Function Keys: Customize key functions and backlight behavior.
  • Power Functions: Assign Wake, Sleep, or Power functions to keys.

Performance Adjustments:

  • Mouse Unit Time (FN + Q): Adjusts the time required for the mouse cursor to move one cell (USB: 8/6/4/2ms, Bluetooth: 12/9/7/5ms). Indicated by 1-4 flashes.
  • Mouse Unit Pixel (FN + R): Adjusts the number of pixels for the mouse cursor to move one cell (2/3/4/5 points). Indicated by 1-4 flashes.
  • Repeat Rate (FN + [{): Adjusts the speed of key hitting (x1, x2, x4, x8). Indicated by 1-4 flashes. x1 restores normal in USB/Bluetooth mode. This setting is not remembered after shutdown.
  • Response Delay (FN + ]}): Adjusts keystroke response delay (500, 300, 100ms). Indicated by 1-3 flashes. Defaults to the first gear and is not remembered after shutdown.
  • Game Mode (FN + G): Increases keyboard speed and power consumption (high) for wireless use. Indicated by 1 flash.
  • ECO Mode (FN + B): Optimizes keyboard speed and power consumption (low) for office use in wireless mode. Indicated by 1 flash.

Interface Settings:

  • USB/PS/2 Interface: Press Left FN/Right FN + Backspace for 5 seconds. The indicator flashes once for USB, twice for auto-identification (USB/PS/2). The keyboard restarts, and the default is USB.
  • Win/Mac Mode (FN + L-Alt): Press for 3 seconds (2 flashes) to match Mac OS (swaps Left Win and Left Alt, Right Alt becomes Right Win). Press again for 3 seconds (1 flash) to return to Win OS. This is remembered after shutdown. Note: In wired mode with Mac OS, there's a waiting period. To open programming software, match to Win OS.

Maintenance Features:

Factory Reset:

Press ESC + L-ctrl + Backspace + Right for 5 seconds to restore factory settings. The keyboard will restart.

  • Emptying Configurations: Individual key configurations can be cleared by selecting the key and choosing "Clear" in the set window. All configurations can be cleared by clicking "Clear" in the main screen's function bar.

Firmware Upgrade:

The keyboard's firmware can be upgraded to improve performance and add new features. This involves clicking "Get Version" to check current firmware, then "Open" to select a .bin file, and finally "Update" to flash the new firmware.
