Overview

This document outlines the operation and maintenance of the HPT20S Hand Pallet Truck with Scale. It is designed to provide a durable, reliable, and easy-to-use product for weighing and transporting goods. Operators are advised to read and understand all instructions and warning labels before use.

Function Description

The HPT20S is a hand pallet truck integrated with a weighing scale, allowing for simultaneous transport and measurement of loads. It features a hydraulic pump unit for lifting and lowering forks, a tiller for steering and control, and an indicator panel for displaying weight and managing various functions. The device is designed for general purpose use in dry environments.

Key functions include:

  • Weighing: Accurate measurement of loads placed on the forks.
  • Transportation: Manual movement of palletized goods.
  • Lifting and Lowering: Hydraulic system to raise and lower the forks for pallet engagement and disengagement.
  • Zero and Tare Functions: Allows for zeroing the scale and taring out the weight of containers or pallets.
  • Summation Function: Accumulates multiple weight measurements.
  • Printer (Optional): Provides a printout of weight measurements.
  • Backlight, Screen Lock, and Unit Switch: Enhances usability with display adjustments and unit conversion.

Usage Features

The HPT20S is designed for straightforward operation with several user-friendly features:

Assembly:

  • Indicator Assembly: The indicator unit needs to be assembled onto the pallet truck.
  • Tiller and Pump Unit Assembly: Involves inserting the draw-bar onto the pump piston, securing it with an axle and elastic pins, and connecting the control handle, adjusting nut, adjusting bolt, and chain.

Control Handle and Release Device:

  • The tiller grip features a finger-tip control handle lever (G117) with three positions:
    • Lift Position: Pull up to raise the forks.
    • Neutral Position: Center position for neither lifting nor lowering.
    • Lower Position: Push down to lower the forks.
  • Adjustment of Release Device: The manual provides detailed steps for adjusting the control handle to ensure correct fork movement in all three positions, involving turning the adjusting nut (G104) and screw (318).

Accurate Weighing:

  • Environmental Conditions: The device should be used within the specified temperature range (-10°C to 40°C) and in a dry environment.
  • Load Placement: Loads should be placed evenly on the forks, with the center of gravity between the two forks. Overloading beyond the maximum capacity is not allowed.
  • Slope Restriction: Not to be used on sloping ground.

Touch Panel Indicator:

  • The indicator features 5 dynamic cursors (Hold, Dynamic, Net, Backlight, Zero) and 7 buttons: "Keep," "Acc," "lb/kg," "Tare," "Untare," "Zero," and "On/Off."
  • Hold Function: Locks the screen weight.
  • Unit Switch: Allows switching between Kg and LB units.
  • Backlight: Can be activated by a long press of the "Zero" button.
  • Zero Function: Resets the scale to zero.
  • Tare Function: Subtracts the weight of a container or pallet.
  • Untare Function: Reverses the tare function.
  • Summation Function (ACC): Allows for adding multiple weight measurements. The display shows the number of accumulated measurements (e.g., "--01--") and the total sum.
  • Low Power Display: The indicator displays "LOWP" when the battery is low, prompting the user to charge the device via the charging port.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Operators must be familiar with the truck and trained before operation.
  • Regular checks of the truck's condition, including wheels, tiller, and finger lever, are essential.
  • No people should be transported on the pallet truck.
  • Gloves are recommended for labor protection.
  • A minimum distance of 600mm from the forks should be maintained by all people when lifting or transporting goods.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines several maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and proper functioning of the HPT20S:

Oil Maintenance (5.1):

  • Check Frequency: Oil level should be checked every six months.
  • Oil Type: Hydraulic oil ISO VG32, with a viscosity of 30cSt at 40°C.
  • Total Volume: Approximately 0.4 liters.

Removing Air from the Pump (5.2):

  • Problem: Air in the hydraulic oil can prevent forks from elevating. This can occur during transportation or if the pump is turned upside down.
  • Procedure: Put the control handle (117) to the lower position, then move the draw-bar up and down several times to expel air.

Daily Check and Maintenance (5.3):

  • Purpose: To limit wear and tear.
  • Focus Areas: Pay special attention to wheels and axles, ensuring they are free from threads, rags, or other obstructions.
  • Storage: Forks should be unloaded and lowered to the lowest position when not in use.

Lubrication (5.4):

  • Factory Lubrication: All bearings and shafts are pre-lubricated with long-life grease.
  • Frequency: Add long-life grease at monthly intervals or after thorough cleaning of lubrication points.

Troubleshooting (7.0):

  • The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting table for common issues, including:
    • Forks not lifting to maximum height (insufficient hydraulic oil).
    • Forks not lifting (impurities in oil, air in hydraulic oil, incorrect adjusting nut position, deformed piston rod/pump).
    • Forks not lowering (release valve unable to close, cracked hydraulic system parts, air in oil, incorrect adjusting nut/screw position).
    • Leakage (worn sealing parts, cracked components).
    • Abnormal scale work (bolts scraping platform, platform scraping fork).
    • Nothing displayed by the terminal (low battery power).
    • Error codes on scale (refer to specific chapter, not detailed here).
  • Important Note: Repairs should only be attempted by trained and authorized personnel.

Paper Change (4.11):

  • Instructions are provided for changing the paper roll in the optional printer, involving opening the printer cover, replacing the roll, and closing the cover.
