To exit from this menu at any time to
standby mode, press and hold 01

Write the message using predictive
or traditional text input (see
"Writing text" on page 9) . The
number of available characters

the current part number are shown
on the top right
of the display .
When the message is complete,

key in the recipient's phone
number, and press

If you want to send the
message to
several
persons, select Send to
many, scroll to the first
recipient,

When you receive a text message in
standby mode, you hear a message
alert tone, and the text messages
received as well as ' -- I are shown .
Press ~-=) (Read) to view the
messages right away . To view the
messages later, press © and
enter the Inboxmenu (Menu 2-2)
when you want to do so .
Scroll to the desired message and
press 0 (Read) .
Use CO or O to browse through
the message .
While reading themessage, you
can press ~ (Options) for the
following : Erase, Reply, Chat, Edit,
Usenumber, Forward, Details .
Chatallows you to have a
conversation based on text messages
with another party . See also page 17 .

You can view the messages that

2-1) . Pressing

access to the same functions

Inbox(Menu 2-2), except for Reply,

Picture messages (Menu 2-4)
Youcan receive and send
text
messages which contain
pictures
(network service) .
Note that :
Each picture message
is made up
of several text messages
.
Therefore, sending-one
picture
message may cost more
than one
text message .
Since picture messages
are saved
in the phone, you cannot
view
them if you use the SIM
card with
another phone .
Only phones that offer
the Picture
message feature
can receive and
display picture
messages .
