1. Get started
■ Insert SIM card and battery
Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing the 
battery.
This device is intended for use with the BP-6MT battery. Always use original Nokia 
batteries. See “Nokia battery authentication guidelines” on page 48.
The SIM card and its contacts can easily be damaged by scratches or bending, so 
be careful when handling, inserting, or removing the card.
To remove the back cover of 
the phone, follow these 
steps.
1. Slide the release button 
back.
2. Pull the back cover up.
3. Lift the cover.
Remove the battery. Use 
the groove to help lift the 
battery up and out.
